DynamoDB: keyed access, huge scale, no joins. RDS: SQL, relations, ad-hoc reports.
How to do it
Clear Get/Query patterns → DynamoDB. Heavy joins/reports → RDS.
Example
Session store and notes by id → DynamoDB. Accounting ledger with joins → RDS.
