What this card says
Why do we need it?
Wrong storage type breaks sharing or costs a fortune for the wrong access pattern.
What is it?
EBS: one instance block disk. EFS: shared POSIX files. S3: durable objects via API/SDK, not a drop-in /var/www.
How to do it
Shared CMS uploads, lift-and-shift NFS apps → EFS. Boot disks → EBS. Backups/static assets → S3.
Example
WordPress content directory on EFS across two web EC2s; AMI root still on EBS.
