Why do we need it?

One function that sleeps between steps wastes duration billing and mixes failures. Timeouts hit the whole flow.

What is it?

Step Functions orchestrates: visual history, per-state retries, wait states, and parallel branches without blocking billing the same way.

How to do it

Define Task → Task → Task in ASL. Add Retry on transient errors. Keep each Lambda under a few seconds.
