Why do we need it?
Disks fail. You also want ten copies of a perfect server.
What is it?
Snapshot = incremental disk backup. AMI = launch template of disks.
create-snapshot
How to do it
create-image --no-reboot, then wait image-available.
aws ec2 create-image
Example
Cleanup: deregister AMI, then delete its snapshots.
deregister-image
