What is a VPC: your own private network inside one AWS Region, example ThreeTierVpc 10.0.0.0/16.

What it is
A task is one running copy of a task definition. A service keeps N tasks healthy and replaces failures.
Why it matters
Long-running APIs use a service; one-off batch may run a standalone task.
How / example
desiredCount=2 on a service → two tasks; stop one → ECS starts another.
