14.19 AI Visuals: Decomposition Tree, Key Influencers, Q&A, Narrative
Decomposition tree. Breaks a measure down across dimensions in any order the user chooses. Field wells: Analyze (a measure), Explain by (dimensions). Example: Analyze = Total Orders; Explain by = City, Area, Category, Payment Mode, Platform. Users click + to split, or choose High value / Low value (AI splits) to find the biggest contributor. Formatting: Tree (bar colours, density), Data bars, Analysis (enable AI splits).
Key influencers. Finds factors that drive an outcome. Field wells: Analyze (a column or measure), Explain by, Expand by. Example: Analyze = Is Late (Late / On time); Explain by = Order Hour, City, Category, Payment Mode, Basket Size. It tells you which factors are most associated with late deliveries. It shows associations, not causes, and it needs enough rows to be meaningful.
Q&A visual. Users type a question in natural language, e.g. "total orders by city for Blinkit", and get a visual. Field wells: Q&A (the question box). Improve results with synonyms (Modeling › Q&A setup › Synonyms: "shop" = Dark Store). Supported language is mainly English.
Smart narrative / Narrative. Generates text that summarises the page or a visual, with dynamic values. Newer versions offer a Narrative visual with Copilot where it is available and enabled. Module 20.4 shows how to write your own dynamic text.
