22.10 Edit Interactions: Filter, Highlight, None

Simple bhashet sangaycha tar, by default, clicking a data point in one visual cross-highlights or cross-filters other visuals on the page. Slicers filter them.

Steps in Power BI

  1. Select the source visual (e.g. the Platform slicer or the "Orders by City" bar chart).
  2. Format › Edit interactions (the Format tab appears on the ribbon when a visual is selected).
  3. Small icons appear on every other visual. Choose one per visual: Filter (funnel: show only the selected data), Highlight (keep the total, highlight the selected part; available on some visuals), or None (ignore the selection).
  4. Example: set the "Total Orders – all platforms" card to None for the Platform slicer, so it always shows the total.
  5. Click Edit interactions again to finish.
  6. Report-wide default: File › Options and settings › Options › Current File › Report settings › Change default visual interaction from cross highlighting to cross filtering.

Mitrano, khup students accept the default cross-highlighting everywhere, so clicking a card-sized chart makes the whole page flash. Use Format › Edit interactions to set Filter, Highlight or None deliberately, especially for KPI cards that should always show the full total. Bilkul visru naka.
