17. Drill Through

17.2 Build the Target Page

Steps in Power BI

  1. Add a new page (the + at the bottom). Rename it Dark Store Details (double-click the tab).
  2. Click an empty area of the canvas so no visual is selected. The Build visual pane now shows page-level wells including Drill through.
  3. Drag DarkStore[Store Name] into Add drill-through fields here.
  4. Power BI adds a Back button automatically at the top-left (if not, Insert › Buttons › Back).
  5. Build the detail visuals:
    • Cards: Total Orders, AOV, Avg Delivery Time (mins), % Orders Delivered Under 10 Mins, Cancellation Rate.
    • Line chart: Total Orders by Order Hour.
    • Bar chart: Orders by Delivery Partner (Amir, Raja, Salman …).
    • Table: Order ID, Order DateTime, Customer Name, Amount, Delivery Time Mins, Order Status (late orders first).
  6. Add a dynamic title such as "Dark Store Details – " & SELECTEDVALUE(DarkStore[Store Name]) (Module 20.2).
  7. Optional: right-click the page tab › Hide page, so users reach it only by drilling.

Ravindra Bagale's Tip

Mitrano, sagalyat jast disnari chuk mhanje putting a field in the drill-through well that isn't in the source visual. Udaharan mhanje, drill through on Orders[City] while the source chart uses DarkStore[City]. Use the same dimension field on both, and hide the target page so users reach it only through drill through. Bilkul visru naka.
