4.2 Regions for India Work
Why. A VM in a far region feels slow from Pune and may have different service availability.
What. A region is a geographic cluster of data centres. Pick one close to users when latency matters. Some orgs also care about data residency rules — follow your company policy.
How.
- For personal labs in India, choose an India region if available in your subscription, or the nearest region Microsoft lists for your offer.
- Keep RG and resources in the same region unless you have a reason not to.
- Note: not every VM size exists in every region.
