Why. The Azure marketplace looks huge. Beginners click random AI services and get lost. You only need a small map for Volume 1.
What. Think in four buckets for this course: Compute (Virtual Machines, App Service), Storage (Storage Accounts / Blob), Networking (Virtual Network, NSG), Data (Azure SQL — later chapter).
How.
Volume 1 map
- Ch 3–4: Portal + Resource Groups + Regions.
- Ch 5–6: Linux VM + SSH + Nginx.
- Ch 7: Blob storage.
- Ch 8: VNet + NSG basics.
If you know AWS: VM ≈ EC2, Blob ≈ S3 object storage, Resource Group ≈ a tag/folder habit (closer to CloudFormation stack grouping), NSG ≈ Security Group.
