Lovable vs Replit vs Bolt vs v0: Build an App by Chatting (2026)

Lovable, Replit (with Agent), Bolt.new and v0 are four popular "vibe coding" tools: you describe an app in chat and they build UI or a working preview. As of October 2026 each still has a free tier with different meters (build credits, Agent credits, tokens or daily messages). Paid entry plans are roughly Lovable Pro ~$25/mo, Replit Core ~$20/mo, Bolt Pro ~$25/mo and v0 Plus ~$30/user/mo (USD before tax — India tax may apply). Pick by job: hosted web app, cloud IDE agent, quick full-stack preview, or React UI on Vercel.

Suppose you want a one-page site for a kirana shop, a small quiz for classmates, and a set of React cards for a college project. You do not need four paid subscriptions on day one. This guide compares the four tools with one worked example each, using free tiers where possible, and tells you what to re-check on the official pricing page before you pay.

What you will learn in this guide

  • What each of the four tools is for
  • Free vs paid meters (Oct 2026)
  • Kirana landing page in Lovable
  • Quiz app with Replit Agent
  • React UI cards in v0 → export
  • When to stop and test by hand

1. Suppose Arjun needs three small builds this month

Suppose Arjun in Nashik wants (1) a landing page for his uncle's kirana, (2) a 5-question quiz for a study group, and (3) nice React cards for a UI assignment. He tries Lovable for the landing page, Replit Agent for the quiz, and v0 for the cards. He keeps Bolt as a backup when he wants a fast in-browser full-stack preview.

2. What are these four tools?

Tool Simple meaning Best first job
Lovable Chat → hosted web app with visual edits Marketing / shop landing pages
Replit + Agent Cloud IDE where an agent builds and runs code Small apps you can run and share
Bolt.new Chat → full-stack preview in the browser Fast prototypes with Bolt hosting
v0 (by Vercel) Chat → React / Next UI you can refine and deploy Component sets and UI polish
Pick a vibe-coding tool in five steps Steps from top to bottom: 1 Write a one-page app spec, What it must do and must not do; 2 Choose the tool for the job, Lovable Replit Bolt or v0; 3 Generate on the free tier, Watch credits tokens and messages; 4 Click every button yourself, Do not trust Build succeeded alone; 5 Export or deploy what works, Keep code before free hosting ends. 1Write a one-page app specWhat it must do and must not do 2Choose the tool for the jobLovable Replit Bolt or v0 3Generate on the free tierWatch credits tokens and messages 4Click every button yourselfDo not trust Build succeeded alone 5Export or deploy what worksKeep code before free hosting ends

Figure 1. Pick a vibe-coding tool in five steps: write a one-page app spec, choose Lovable or Replit or Bolt or v0 for the job, generate on the free tier, click every button yourself, then export or deploy only what you tested.

3. Free and paid snapshot (checked October 2026)

Numbers move. Re-open each official pricing page before you decide.

Tool Free tier (approx.) Entry paid (approx. USD/mo) Meter
Lovable ~5 build credits / day, capped ~30 / month Pro from ~$25 Build / workspace credits
Replit Starter: daily Agent credits; 1 published app (often down after 30 days) Core ~$20 ($18 annual) Agent / model credits
Bolt.new ~300K tokens / day and ~1M / month Pro from ~$25 Tokens
v0 ~7 messages / day (+ signup credit offers) Plus ~$30 / user Messages / credits

Prices are usually shown in USD. Your bank may add GST or forex. Do not treat any blog's rupee conversion as an official India price unless the vendor shows INR.

4. Worked example 1: kirana landing page in Lovable

  1. Create a free Lovable account.
  2. Paste this spec (edit the phone number to a placeholder):
Build a one-page website for "Sharma Kirana", a small grocery shop in Nashik.
Sections: hero with shop name, today's prices for 4 items (tea, sugar, oil, atta)
with editable numbers, WhatsApp order button using placeholder [WHATSAPP_NUMBER],
opening hours Mon–Sat 8am–9pm, and a simple footer.
Mobile-friendly. Clean, large text. No fake customer reviews.
No payment gateway.
  1. Generate. Click every section on the preview phone size.
  2. Fix wrong prices by editing in the UI or with a short follow-up chat.
  3. Publish only if the free plan still hosts it; note any "Made with…" badge.

Expected output (yours will be similar, not the same): a simple one-page kirana site. No real UPI collection until you add it yourself later on purpose.

Ravindra Bagale's Tip

Students ask the tool to "add UPI and auto-verify payments" on day one. Skip payments until the page text and WhatsApp link are correct. Money flows need human checks.

5. Worked example 2: quiz app in Replit Agent

  1. Open Replit, start a new Agent / app chat on the Starter plan.
  2. Paste:
Build a browser quiz with 5 multiple-choice questions about Indian geography.
Show one question at a time, score at the end, and a Restart button.
No login. No database. Plain HTML/CSS/JS or Python + simple templates is fine.
Do not call external paid APIs.
  1. Run the app in Replit. Answer all 5 questions. Confirm score math.
  2. Use the one free published app carefully — Starter publish windows can expire (often discussed as ~30 days; confirm on Replit's current pricing help).
  3. Download or copy the code into a GitHub repo if you need it after the free publish ends.

Expected output: a working 5-question quiz you can click through. Broken score logic means you ask Agent to fix with a failing example, then re-test.

6. Worked example 3: React UI cards in v0 → export

  1. Open v0 on the free plan (daily message limit applies).
  2. Paste:
Create a responsive set of three pricing cards for a tutoring service:
Basic, Standard, Premium. Include monthly price placeholders,
three bullet features each, and a primary button.
Use clean Tailwind-style React components suitable for Next.js.
No real payment links.
  1. Iterate once or twice inside the daily message budget.
  2. Sync to GitHub or copy the component into your Next.js project / deploy path Vercel documents for v0.
  3. Run the project locally and click each button (they should not charge anyone).

Expected output: three React cards you can drop into a real project. Bolt can be your alternate if you want the whole preview hosted inside Bolt instead of exporting UI.

7. How to choose in one minute

If you need… Try first
Pretty shop / landing page with hosting Lovable
Runnable app + IDE + share link Replit Agent
Fast full-stack prototype in the browser Bolt.new
Polished React / Next components v0

8. Beginner mistakes and quick fixes

Mistake What happens Quick fix
Paying for all four on day one Wasted money Free tiers first
Trusting "Build succeeded" without clicking Broken buttons Manual click test
Putting real customer data in the prompt Privacy leak Placeholders only
Assuming free publish lasts forever Site goes down Export code early
Inventing ₹ prices from blogs Wrong budget Trust vendor USD page + your bank

9. Try at home

Try at home

  1. Write a 10-line app spec for something small you actually need.
  2. Build it in one free tool from this page.
  3. Click every button.
  4. Export or screenshot the result before credits run out.

Recap

In short

  1. Lovable, Replit, Bolt and v0 all build from chat, but they meter usage differently.
  2. Free tiers exist on all four — check today's numbers on official pages.
  3. Lovable fits landing pages; Replit Agent fits small runnable apps; Bolt fits fast prototypes; v0 fits React UI.
  4. Always click-test before you share a link.
  5. Keep secrets and real payments out of first prompts.
  6. USD list prices plus Indian tax/forex — do not invent official ₹ fees.

One clear spec, one free tool, click every button. That is honest vibe coding.

Frequently asked questions

Which tool should a complete beginner open first?

If you want a simple website, start with Lovable's free tier. If you want to see real code run, start with Replit.

Is Bolt the same as v0?

No. Bolt aims at full-stack previews in its own environment. v0 focuses on generating UI components you often take into a Vercel / Next.js workflow.

Do I need a credit card for free tiers?

Often not for the first experiments, but each vendor's signup flow differs. Read the checkout screen carefully before you add a card.

Can I use these tools for client work on the free plan?

Check commercial terms, badges ("Made with…"), and whether the free publish URL is stable. Many freelancers move to a paid plan before client handover.

Are the dollar prices the final India price?

List prices are usually USD before tax. Your card statement may show GST or forex. Prefer the vendor's live pricing page over any converted ₹ figure in a blog.
