36. KPI in All Industries

Come on, friends, today we look at KPIs (Key Performance Indicators – a number that really changes a decision). In interviews and in a job, nobody asks only "What is AOV?". They ask: where did this number come from, who uses it, and what do we do next. For every industry, this module shows those KPIs, and next to them one vanity metric (a number that looks nice but does not change any decision).

What you will learn in this module

  • What a KPI is, and how it is different from a vanity metric
  • The KPIs students meet in interviews and on the job, industry by industry
  • A small fictional table, the formula in words, and the result
  • What a manager in Pune or Nashik would do after seeing that number

Live story: KPIs for any industry

Suppose the next client is a hospital, a bank or a school, not a grocery app. The KPI names change. The Power BI method does not. This chapter lists KPIs by industry, each worked on six fictional rows.

All numbers in this story are fictional practice data.

Fictional sample data

Every number in this module is fictional sample data for class. It is not a result of Blinkit, Amazon, any bank, hospital, college, factory, or government office. Do not quote these figures as a real company result in an interview. Say "in my practice file".
