Chapter 02 · Digital Marketing with AI & Analytics
SEO Basics: Search Intent and Simple On-Page
SEO starts with why someone searched — not stuffing keywords.
Why this matters
Students and small businesses waste months on tricks. Intent (learn / compare / buy) and clear pages still matter in 2026. AI can draft, but search engines and users reward helpful pages.
What you will learn
You will classify intents, pick one seed query for a fictional brand, and fix title, H1, intro and internal links on a sample outline.
How to do it
No rank guarantees. No buying links. Follow Google’s public guidance spirit: helpful, reliable content.
Steps (do these in order)
- Step 1 — Name the query. Example: “best bakery cake Pune delivery” — local + buy intent.
- Step 2 — Match the page type. Buy intent → product/service page with area, hours, WhatsApp CTA. Learn intent → guide article.
- Step 3 — On-page checklist. Unique title, one H1, short intro answering the query, readable mobile layout, contact path.
- Step 4 — Internal links. From blog “how to store cake” → order page. Helps humans and crawlers.
- Step 5 — Avoid spam. No hidden text, no doorway pages, no copied manufacturer spam.
Practice
- Rewrite a weak title into a clear one for your fictional brand.
- Label five queries as learn / compare / buy.
