What.
- Analytics — explains what happened (Power BI, Excel, SQL reports).
- Data science / ML — predicts or finds patterns (models).
- Data engineering — builds pipelines, warehouses, quality checks so the above two are not lying.
How. One sentence test: “If the table is late or wrong, who gets the WhatsApp?” Often the data engineer.
