22. Exporting and Sharing Your Analysis

22.1 Why Managers Need Excel, CSV and PNG

Why. Ravindra Bagale (Pune city manager) reads WhatsApp on a phone between dark-store walks. He will not open your Jupyter kernel. Shraddha Bagale forwards a PNG + three bullets to the regional group. Amir archives a CSV in the shared drive for Excel users. Your notebook is for you. The export is for them.

What. Three shareable artefacts:

  1. Table file — CSV or .xlsx summary (city × status, daily totals).
  2. Chart image — PNG with title, axis labels, source note.
  3. Insight text — 6–10 lines: what, so what, now what.

How.

Delivery habit

  1. Finish cleaning in the notebook (Chapters 9–10).
  2. Build summary tables with groupby / pivot_table.
  3. Export tables to outputs/.
  4. Save charts to figures/.
  5. Paste the insight template into email / Notion / WhatsApp.
  6. Keep the notebook in notebooks/ as the reproducible brain.

Worked example A — What not to send.

Ruhi emails a 40-cell notebook with half-failed cells and a raw 12-column extract. The manager scrolls, gives up, and asks for “just Pune vs Nashik delivered GMV”. Export would have been five minutes.

Worked example B — What to send (fictional Friday pack).

File Purpose
outputs/city_status_21-10-2026.xlsx Excel pivot-like summary
figures/pune_daily_gmv.png One chart
Message body 7-line insight

Worked example C — Audience matrix.

Audience Prefer
Ops manager on phone PNG + bullets
Analyst peer CSV + notebook link
Finance .xlsx with one sheet “summary”, one “notes”

Ravindra Bagale's Tip

Share pack = table + picture + paragraph. Notebook optional. Bilkul visru naka.
