Visualच्या axis किंवा rowsमध्ये एकापेक्षा जास्त levels हवेत. Named hierarchy किंवा स्वतंत्र fields योग्य क्रमाने दोन्ही वापरता येतात.

Date: Year › Quarter › Month Name › Date.

DarkStore: State › City › Area › Store Name.

Product: Category › Sub Category › Product Name.

Chapter12.2 प्रमाणे reusable hierarchy बनवा. किंवा axisमध्ये आधी Year मग Month घाला; supported visualमध्ये drill controls मिळतात.

Source tipमध्ये separate fieldsने drill चालत नाही असं म्हटलं होतं; ते अचूक नाही. अनेक levels योग्य wellमध्ये असतील तर drill शक्य. Named hierarchy reusable व स्पष्ट असते.
