# 8.7 Histogram आणि Box & Whisker

Histogram एका numeric measureची distribution दाखवतो: किती ordersची delivery वेळ कोणत्या intervalमध्ये येते? Box & Whisker groupsमधली median, quartiles, spread आणि possible outliers compare करतो.

Histogram

Delivery Minsचा numeric data select करा › Insert › Statistic Chart › Histogram.

Horizontal axis Format करा › Bin width = 5. गरजेनुसार Number of bins निवडता येतो.

Overflow bin = 30 ठेवल्यास त्यापेक्षा जास्त times शेवटच्या bucketमध्ये येतात. Underflowही देता येतो.

Axisवरील actual interval labels वाचा; boundary value कोणत्या binमध्ये गेली ते पाहा.

Box & Whisker

Cityनुसार values seriesमध्ये व्यवस्थित arrange करा. उदाहरणार्थ Pune, Nashik, Nagpur असे वेगळे column headers आणि खाली त्या Cityचे Delivery Mins. Range select › Insert › Statistic Chart › Box & Whisker. Chartमध्ये प्रत्येक Cityची स्वतंत्र box आली आहे का तपासा. Long City/Minutes data Excelने योग्य seriesमध्ये घेतला नाही तर आधी हा wide layout बनवा.

Median ही मधली value; box साधारण Q1 ते Q3 दाखवते. Whiskers आणि outlier display settings तपासा. बाहेरचे dots आपोआप चुका ठरत नाहीत.

Worked interpretation

काल्पनिक 4,800 Pune ordersमध्ये 8–14 minutesचा cluster आणि 20च्या पुढे tail असेल तर distribution skewed आहे असं दिसेल. “पावसामुळे उशीर” म्हणण्यासाठी weather/timeचा अतिरिक्त पुरावा हवा.

Practice

Order Amountचा ₹100 bin-width histogram करा; overflow ₹1,000. मग Cityनुसार delivery box plots बनवून median आणि spreadची तुलना करा.

Raw valuesचा साधा column chart आणि histogram वेगळे आहेत. Histogramमध्ये number intervals मोजले जातात. Box plotमधला outlier आधी review करा; लगेच delete करू नका.
