8.6 Scatter chart — दोन numbersमधला संबंध

Scatter chartमध्ये प्रत्येक dot एका observationचा असतो. X आणि Y दोन्ही numeric असतात. उदाहरणार्थ प्रत्येक storeचे average Delivery Mins आणि cancellation percentage.

Steps

1. Store, Avg Delivery Mins, Cancellation % अशी summary तयार करा. Chartसाठी X values आधी आणि Y values पुढच्या columnमध्ये ठेवा.
2. दोन्ही numeric columns select › Insert › Scatter.
3. Trendline › More Options › Linear. गरज असेल तर Display Equation आणि Display R-squared value tick करा.
4. Data Labels › More Options › Value From Cells › Store names select करा.
5. Axis titles आणि % format नीट द्या. 5%ची underlying value 0.05 असते.

Result कसा वाचायचा?

15 काल्पनिक storesमध्ये जास्त delivery timeसोबत जास्त cancellation दिसत असेल तर association आहे असं म्हणता येईल. R² हा निवडलेल्या fitted modelने Yमधली variation किती capture केली याचा summary आहे; तो causation किंवा prediction accuracyची guarantee नाही.

Cancellation rateचा denominator समान ठेवा: cancelled orders ÷ eligible total orders. Delivery average फक्त delivered ordersवर असेल तर तेही स्पष्ट सांगा. Weather, distance, stock issues असे इतर factors असू शकतात.

Practice

12 storesचे delivery average विरुद्ध cancellation % plot करा. Trendline, R² आणि Area labels द्या. एक unusual dot शोधून source data तपासा.
