# 7.8 Slicers आणि Timelines

Slicer म्हणजे click करता येणारे filter buttons. Timeline म्हणजे date period निवडण्यासाठीचा control. Report पाहणाऱ्याला dropdown शोधत बसावं लागत नाही.

Slicers जोडा

Pivotमध्ये click › PivotTable Analyze › Insert Slicer.

City आणि Platform tick करा › OK.

एका buttonवर click करून filter करा. अनेक valuesसाठी Ctrl-click किंवा Multi-Select icon वापरा.

Clear Filter iconने निवड reset करा.

Slicer tab › Buttons › Columns = 3 करा; तीन columnsमध्ये buttons दिसतील. योग्य Slicer Style निवडा.

Right-click › Slicer Settings › Hide items with no data हा पर्याय गरजेनुसार वापरा.

Timeline जोडा

PivotTable Analyze › Insert Timeline › Order Date निवडा.

Timelineच्या level dropdownमधून Years, Quarters, Months किंवा Days निवडा.

हवा तो period drag करून select करा. Sourceमध्ये real dates हव्यात.

Worked example

काल्पनिक ops dashboardमध्ये Rani City = Nagpur आणि Timeline = November 2026 निवडते. आता Pivot फक्त त्या City आणि periodचा result दाखवतो. हा filter festivalचा परिणाम सिद्ध करत नाही; त्यासाठी इतर periods आणि योग्य comparison लागेल.

Practice

City, Platform, Category slicers तीन-column layoutमध्ये आणि Month timeline जोडा. Filter लावून total बदलतो का पाहा. Save करण्याआधी clear करा किंवा selected filters headingमध्ये स्पष्ट दाखवा.

संपूर्ण sales कमी दिसत असतील तर slicerमधली जुनी selection तपासा. Control दिसतोय पण संबंधित Pivot बदलत नसेल तर Report Connections पाहा.
